BURUK is a two-piece garage punk noise drums and guitar band from the dirty, filthy and poor slums of Jakarta, Indonesia. Yes, that sounds pretty interesting and awkward enough, but no. That unfortunately is not the truth.

BURUK is the Indonesian adopted stepchild of the two Dutch Low Point Drains founders Bapak Point and Bapak Drain, a band that existed between 1998 and 2019. The Dutch used to have a long connection with Indonesia. This here is proof. After twenty years of Low Point Drains existence, that band was invited to play a live-show, but their bassplayer could not join that particular gig. So they decided to start a new band but wanted to sing only in Bahasa Indonesia. Period. However, during one of the recording sessions of this EP on Kafadan Kontak, singer/ guitarist Mr. Point damaged his ears permanently and had to quit playing live music. If you listen their songs you will understand why. May their songs rest in piece and stay in your head forever. Wear yer earplugs people! Or your ears will become Buruk.
